Working with Sedgman, our challenge was provide a revised earthworks strategy for a mine infrastructure tender in Pilbara, Australia.
EIC Activities reviewed geotechnical data and identified where clays and weak to low strength rock allowed cost effective excavation.
The revised strategy also identified material for re-compaction without treatment and reduced overall earthworks and the borrow quantity to zero achieving cost savings of around 20%.
